Chapter 10: Bittersweet memories

Only a few months after the wedding, Florence announced her pregnancy! They were both so happy to have their first child together, and hoped for many more to come.

Katherine got sick, but after weeks of feeling like this she went to the local doctor, who unfortunately diagnosed her with a deadly illness, which was too advanced to treat. He recommended that she said goodbye to her loved ones, as she didn't have much time left.

Florence's pregnancy went on well, it was the only happiness left in the sadness of the family.

Katherine said goodbye to her family and friends. Although, the months went by and she didn't feel much worse, so she went back to the doctor and he told her that she had likely very few months left, she had lasted longer than he thought, but sadly, there was nothing to be done.

She lived to see the birth of her first grandchild, Pearl Mason, first daughter of Charles and Florence.

But she died the following day of Pearl's birth. Everyone was devastated, so everyone felt rather bittersweet, because Pearl's birth was supposed to be a happy memory.

A funeral was held and they also used it to say goodbye to Florence's father, who had ed away during her pregnancy.

But it doesn't end there 🥲 A few days after Florence gave birth, she discovered that she was bleeding a lot, concerned, she told Charles and was on her way to the doctor, but she didn't make it :(

Both Edward and Charles were absolutely devastated. Especially Charles, since he had lost her mother and her wife in only a matter of days, and was now stuck with a motherless child, not knowing how to take care of her or how to explain to her that she would not grow up with a mother.

But he tried his best, one of Florence's friends agreed to help with the baby, although, he still tried to take care of her, or at least show her as much love as possible.

Peter told his father that he had met a woman a while ago, and that he wanted to propose to her. Edward told him that maybe it wasn't the best time, given the circumstances :no_mouth: But that he couldn't forbid him to do it.

Peter decided to wait, and months later, he finally proposed to Beatrice White. They got married almost immediately, and just like Pearl's birth, it was kind of a bittersweet moment, but at least the family was starting to heal.

It was a quiet ceremony, and Charles didn't really want to attend, but he did in the end, as it was his brother's wedding, and he wouldn't forgive himself if he missed that.

Beatrice's brother walked her down the aisle, since they had lost their parents a long time ago.

Chapter Notes

This was such a weird start of decade, a wedding, a birth, a death, another death and another wedding XD.

I'm really sad about losing these sims, especially Florence, because Charles and her had a really beautiful connection and I wanted to explore their relationship a lot and meet their children, but it's how it turned out :confused:

But a part of me likes having these deaths :joy: I mean, it makes it more realistic and interesting, besides, I love giving drama and tragedies to my sims :eyes:
