Good morning, Smash Amino. It's time to see what my least favorite color changes are for the fighters introduced in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U.
Keep in mind that I will not include the Mii Fighters, as I don't use them enough to have an opinion for my least favorite costumes. Also, Echo Fighters will be based on when they were first seen in Smash instead of how they appear on the selection screen.
All righty then, let's continue...

Villager: yellow boy costume
Hmm... picking my least favorite Villager skin was tough. I enjoying this in the 3DS demo, but the other male skins look cooler to me. Most players pick on the Villagette with a yellow-and-blue striped dress, but I low-key enjoy using her.
I like that each Villager wears different clothing.

Mega Man: gray/yellow armor
In Smash 4, I liked seeing Mega Man's costumes. All refer to legit skins he had in his many games. The design in Ultimate gives Mega Man a nice increase in shininess...
This costume, I believe, is based on his look after getting Top Spin from the Top Man boss. Like Captain Falcon, Mega Man just looks a bit dull in a gray coloration in my opinion.

Wii Fit Trainer: green male costume
Both the female and male Wii Fit Trainers have a simple set of costumes. I really don't have any issues with their skins, but Aaronitmar had a good suggestion in that it would be better if each slot was a distinct color.
I don't have much of a reason for picking this green male costume other than the female looks a bit cuter in it.

Rosalina: purple dress
Super Smash Bros. 4 is the first time where Princess Rosalina is playable from the start and has various recolors. She looks good in any of her eight dresses.
It appears that Rosa's colors are mostly taken from Peach and thus can share similar inspirations. That said, I'd like to believe that Rosalina's skins refer to various Lumas throughout the Galaxy games. Purple could call back to the lovable Lubba. I don't have a least favorite Luma color.

Little Mac: white costume
Ultimate gave Mac a significant decrease in costumes, with most of his wireframe ones dropped to only two. Still, he managed to keep most of his cooler skins.
In both 4 and Ultimate, the white coloration is my least favorite Little Mac. It has a good reference to Piston Hondo, but something about the color combo doesn't quite work for me.

Greninja: dark purple costume
If there's one thing that I dig about Greninja, it's that his costumes are colorful and he even has a (vague) reference to his Shiny form. Quite nice!
Though dark purple works well for ninjas and Dark-type Pokémon, I am more into his lavender color. Sorry...

Palutena: Dark Pit dress
Lady Palutena keeps the exact same colors she had in the past game. I heard from NearChris that it'd be nice for her to get more distinctive hair colors...
Anyway, my least favorite is the color based on Dark Pit. No, it's not because I dislike Dark Pit; quite the contrary. The reason is that Smash 4 did it better by having elegant silver accents on the dress.

Dark Pit: red color
Speaking of Dark Pit, I find his red color as a bit underwhelming. I think that there's a bit too much going on here...
In contrast to what WiiDude83 says, I actually think that Dark Pit had better colors in Smash 4. Yes, they were montone, but for a character who literally has "dark" in his name, I think he benefits more from simple dark palette swaps.
That said, his costumes are more distinct now, plus Dark Pit is still my favorite Kid Icarus fighter.

Pac-Man: red sleeves
Ooh, Pac-Man. This is another third-party fighter whose costumes are frequently looked down on by the fanbase. As much as I do like that he's here in Smash, ittedly his costumes can use some work. He's a colorful guy, so it's odd that Namco doesn't want to embrace that in his skins...
The pick I have is these dark red sleeves. Though I am amused with Pac wearing 80s gear, I think the others are more visually interesting.

Robin: yellow costume
...I notice that many of my least favorite costumes for fighters are yellow. How odd. I otherwise like the color. 🤔
For Robin, the female yellow alt looks a bit weird. Before, it was a based on a character named Eyvel from Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, but the hair color makes it less obvious in Ultimate.
It can be said that Robin's colors stand out more now, but similar to Dark Pit, I kinda prefer the simpler looks in Smash 4. Sorry in advance to WiiDude83 and his fans... :persevere:

Lucina: yellow color
Here's yet another yellow costume! This one has Lucina resemble her aunt and Chrom's younger sister Lissa.
I have no ill will on Lissa herself, but her dark and bright shades of yellow don't translate very well on her niece IMO. I agree with WiiDude and Tyler in that her skins in Ultimate got a heavy nerf due to the muted colors.

Shulk: beach attire
Okey-dokey. This skin is most likely going to be my most controversial pick. Most everyone I follow on YouTube or Twitter loves seeing Shulk in just his swim trunks.
Simply put, my reasons for my indifference to this costume is similar to why I'm not big on Zero Suit wearing her two-piece outfit. In comparison, though, I like Shulk's cute little sandals.

Bowser Jr.: default appearance
Well, this is interesting. Bowser Jr. is one of the few instances where my least favorite costume is the standard one. It boils down to the fact that I prefer his seven older siblings in the Mario series.
This is not to say that I *hate* Junior himself; he's a formidable enemy to Mario and can have some good lines of dialogue. Plus, he gets major props for having a unique vehicle moveset and seven full Koopaling costumes.

Duck Hunt: brown colors
I can't really hold a grudge against Duck Hunt for using mostly brown colors on the dog, seeing as the idea was to go for realistic breeds. This shade of brown, though, is my least favorite, and the duck looks kinda eh in my opinion.

Ryu: pure white gi
Ryu and his Echo Fighter Ken both have colors directly taken from the Street Fighter games.
This white one has some elements going for it, but I kinda wish that the gi was a tiny bit bluer like in the sprite. This is mostly just a nitpick, however.

Cloud: sleeveless Advent alt
Continuing a trend from Sonic and Pac-Man, Cloud's skins are perceived as among the most disappointing to fans. For the most part, I try to look past that and enjoy him as my favorite swordfighter, but I would suggest that dark colors of the rainbow would be neat.
This outfit looks very similar to his standard Advent Children design, but with the sleeve cut off and a band on his arm to Aerith. It's not a bad reference, but its difference from the other costume is minute at best.

Corrin: black female alt
I am unfamiliar with the popular opinions here, but I think that Corrin has some of the better skins among the Fire Emblem cast. I am aware of the meme that the male skins are "non-existent", but still like those variations.
If there's one that I had to pick as a "least" favorite, it's this black and gold one. She still looks solid, but I think it clashes with her original design.

Bayonetta: reddish outfit
Fun fact: while Smash 4 is my favorite Super Smash Bros. game, Bayonetta is considered mid-tier in my book. Just felt like sharing...
Here, Bayonetta wears an outfit that's supposed to be based on Cereza, her younger form in the Bayonetta games. I...liked how this looked in Smash 4 more, with a more obvious pink coloration instead of it being a deeper red.
Whoo! That was a lot to work on. Next time will be the final blog, where I take on a similarly large roster of the newcomers in Ultimate itself. Thanks for reading!

Now that shulk one is a war crime
I use most of these colors. The biggest exception is Wii fit. I would never play male Wii fit
When Corrin's black alt is a lowkey Nohr Noble

Fair point...
I agree with what you said about Palutena’s alt, the gold should have been Silver.
But I still really like that alt nevertheless
How dare you put blonde lucina on this list ;-;
