Good evening, Super Smash Bros. enthusiasts. It's time for a new blog...
This past Tuesday (or Wednesday for others), a certain fighter named Steve ed the battle. He hails from the critically acclaimed Minecraft game and is the second Microsoft rep. I didn't think this would be a reality, but here he is.
I've tried using him in a few battles; he's got some charm, but in all honesty, I can't see myself maining him. His many things to keep tabs of and durability system doesn't tickle my fancy.
As per usual upon the release of a new fighter, I will go on and discuss my favorite alternate costume. In addition, I will mention my least favorite costume and give a quick ranking of this character's Direct.

Favorite Costume: Enderman Skin
Instead of simple palette swaps like most fighters, Steve's skins incorporate the designs of different characters from Minecraft. The Enderman is the one I dig the most.
I first saw Enderman when my nephew asked me to draw him. He certainly looks cute with his jet black color and bright purple eyes. I know that actual Enderman mobs are much taller in Minecraft, but playing as another generic enemy is fun.

Least Favorite: Tennis Steve
Given that Minecraft isn't a series I jive with, I didn't have any familiarity with different varieties of Steve. This one is just OK to me; the Scottish version is a bit cooler, and I dig Alex in her default look and her tennis and Swedish outfits.
Regarding the Steve Direct, I place it right below Terry's. It's a good presentation, but hearing all of the things players need to manage was a lot to take in. My favorite part of this video was the reveal of the Bomberman Mii costume.
All righty then. Seeing Minecraft officially represented in Super Smash Bros. is quite impressive. It is the best-selling game in the past decade, and people like my nephew or IntroSpecktive love this inclusion. That's part of the magic of Super Smash Bros. that I enjoy seeing.
