Afternoon, all. Welp, it is now time for the final part of my blog series of least favorite costumes. I will cover the 18 fighters that were newly added to SSBU.
Here we go...

Inkling: light blue boy
Of the characters to be introduced in Ultimate, I see Inkling as having the coolest costumes. Between the girl and boy, there's a nice variety of colors and accessories directly lifted from Splatoon.
While this light blue boy is my least favorite, he's still rather fresh.

Daisy: black dress
Seeing Princess Daisy with changeable dress colors is something that I am still amused by. I always wanted to see her with more colors since Mario Tennis had a purple alternate.
This color is very nice, giving Daisy a maid-esque attire. I merely find the other seven colors better on her.

Ridley: default colors
Like Bowser Jr., Ridley is one of the few fighters where the original colors is my least favorite. There are two reasons why.
First, I find each of his costumes to have great references and to look nice. Second, I never really liked Ridley's look from Super Metroid. Granted, who am I to judge a fan-favorite game, but the muted purple skin and dark pink wings just look off IMO. I'd prefer if his wings were orange and the skin a brighter purple, like in previous Smash games.
This, however, changes nothing about Ridley being my secondary.

Simon: dark yellow outfit
Mmm...I find Simon Belmont's colors to be somewhat mid-tier. As I am unfamiliar with Castlevania as a series, my expectations for his skins aren't that high, so it's not a huge deal or anything.
It resembles how Simon looks on the boxart to Super Castlevania IV or Fake Trevor from Symphony of the Night.

Richter: yellow outfit
Richter remains my favorite of the Belmont fighters. His costumes are one reason why.
This yellow one looks quite similar to a character named Jonathan Morris from the Castlevania series. Even as my pick for the least favorite skin, it still looks great on Richter.

Chrom: black costume
Despite not being a Fire Emblem fan, I enjoy using Chrom for many battles. His black color stands out the least to me, though.
It not having an origin doesn't bother me; it's more along the lines of it looking bland compared to the others.

Dark Samus: red-brown color
Dark Samus has some nice colors all around. The majority of them call back to characters seen in the Metroid Prime series, where she's the main antagonist.
This red one, though, mostly seems original to Smash. I normally like reddish brown, but on Dark Samus, it just looks underwhelming.

King K. Rool: yellow skin
One of my concerns about King K. Rool was if his skins were going to simply be shades of green, as most Kremlings are that color. I have been happily proven wrong. 🤗
Yellow is reminiscent of the colors of Kopter from Donkey Kong Country 3 and DK Barrel Blast. It's OK on my main in Ultimate.

Isabelle: pink outfit
This fighter has a basic set of recolors, with four each on her summer and winter attires. Not bad!
In a rare twist, pink is actually my least favorite color here. Isabelle looks good in anything, but the pink outfit looks a bit too similar to the purple one. Rest assured, I still like all of her alts.

Ken: gray gi
Of the three "traditional 2D fighters" playable in Ultimate, Ken is my least favorite. I prefer Ryu's harder-hitting moves and Terry is just more fun in general. That said, I still use Ken regularly.
Just like Ryu, Ken lifts his costumes from Street Fighter. A solid gray is decent, but I like the more distinctive deep gray outfit with the modified skin and hair.

Incineroar: green skin
I enjoy using Incineroar a lot. His pro wrestling moves are a blast to smack enemies with, and I like cats.
Frankly, I find his color choices as good. The green one slightly feels off, but it's a very usable skin for me.

Piranha Plant: purple color
Plant is my favorite DLC fighter. His moves are fantastic...
I am a Super Mario nerd, so it was pleasant to see that Piranha Plant's costumes refer to variations of its kind. However, the purple one has the most ambiguous design. Fans claim it could be a nod to Waluigi, Porcupuffer, Bungee Piranha, or the Spiked Piranha from Galaxy.
While I enjoy the overall coloration, I would have preferred to see a more straightforward reference to a purple Piranha Plant than all of these possible references...

Joker: white/red costume
Joker, leader of the Phantom Thieves of Heart, has a good, straightforward set of references in his alts.
I commending this alt before, and I still like it, but the others look cooler with the black hair. Just a nitpick...

Hero: red Luminary alt
The Hero's costumes are among the best of any fighter in Smash. Four recognizable protagonists from the Dragon Quest games, each with a different costume.
Luminary's red alt is based on a character named Angelo. Pardon me for saying this, but the white hair just doesn't look so great on Luminary...then again, it's not like I'm a fashion designer. 🤔

Banjo-Kazooie: yellow set
Prior to their release, I was hopeful on Banjo and Kazooie getting some nice, bright colors. Now that they're here, they've succeeded on that front.
If there's one that I find a bit iffy, it's the yellow outfit. Similar to Plant's purple costume, the references fans came up with are sort of all over the place. Personally, I find Banjo in particular to have a curry yellow design. Mind you, I do like curry chicken, but his other fur colors are nicer.

Terry: black/grey clothes
Before I say anything else, I just want to point out that Terry is much more fun than I expected. I love to try and pull off the Buster Wolf when having enough damage, and I dig his Engrish accent.
Moving on, this alt was first seen in Fatal Fury Special. In my unprofessional opinion, it looks kinda washed out. The other black outfit, with the leather pants, fits his cool guy personality more. At least the hat has a neat design.

Byleth: green hair female alt
Image taken from Nintendo Life.
As with Robin and Corrin, Byleth's costumes in Smash are split between male and female designs. Most seem to like the female, but I find male Byleth to look good too.
The main reason why I pick this outfit is because the other green female costume, based on Sothis from Three Houses, looks more striking. However...it does make sense, because a certain spoiler event has either gender of Byleth get this bright green hair.

Min Min: black alt
After being out for around three months, Min Min is a fighter that I find fun and unique, even if her Final Smash is hard to hit with...
Her skins are directly from the ARMS game, either based on her own recolors or derived from other fighters' skins. This black one is one of the choices for Byte and Barq while also resembling a Phoenix ARM.
This reminds me of burnt noodles, a little mishap meal I accidentally made as a kid. Definitely a...bizarre reference, but yeah. I otherwise think that Min Min has good colors.
...All righty then! That is it for my least favorite costumes for all the fighters currently playable in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Frankly, I was somewhat hesitant to make these blogs, but now that I'm done, it feels like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
I am sorry if my picks have offended anyone; that this is mostly for satire and is not to be taken seriously. Just the idea of changing the colors of fighters remains my favorite aspect of Smash. For the remaining five Fighters characters, I will talk about my least favorite costumes alongside my favorite ones as they come out.
In either case, I had fun with this. Thanks for reading, everyone! 🤗
