This is a post that was too short for me to finish so yeah have this without images and stuff. (It's about mind games in Smash.)
Hey guys, Smash Bros really makes you use your noggin. Mind games can really mess up someone's train of thought, thus making them not play their best. Top players use mind games, some definitely more than others. A lot of these I would definitely not reccomended doing often, but if you use them sparingly they can be a deadly tool. Some are just dumb and definitely not optimal but I love doing dumb things in this game.

Killing yourself isn't good so don't do it. This is a game however, so it has it's uses. One of them being confusing the shite out of your opponent. This is a great mind game. (Sarcasm but I love it.)
I wouldn't recommend doing this like ever, but maybe if you're playing a friendly and you have a nice lead you can go for it. If someone randomly SD'd against you and then carried on like nothing ever happened I'm sure you would be very confused.
It makes you think "wait what, why did they just SD one time? are they insane?". All this time you aren't thinking about spacing, positioning and just neutral in general. Overthinking it can lead to making mistakes, which can completely destroy your mentality and calmness, leading to sloppy play.
Definitely a dumb mind game but if it works it is genuinely hilarious.

What's that? All the top players told you spamming was bad? Well I'm some kid on an app who willingly plays Smash 4 over Ultimate so you can trust me.
Seriously though this a more useable mindgame. Here's an example of using spamming to get inside someone's head. Imagine it's high percent on your final stock so your opponent is already stressed out. If you do one up smash, then just keep doing it you can really mess people up. Just in the same spot, without moving. Obviously don't do it too much or you'll get punished.
Then there's spamming up Smash constantly while moving. You may take some damage, but if you have a stock lead and they are on their final stock it isn't too big of a deal. The reason this is good is because they usually freak out and eventually get hit. If they don't, you can get an easy grab since they will be expecting up Smash. I use this occasionally against Myrrusz and it works like a charm.
The final kind of spam I'm going to mention is being annoying. If you spam projectiles like Ness' PK fire that can really get under someones skin. It's best to be careful with this one and try not to get hit, since that will add to the irritation.
Of course if you get them agitated they will not be playing at their best, which is great for you since it will make things easier. I have seem tactical spam used in tournament matches by top players, like spamming spot dodge (Smash 4) or even the Smash attacks. It is rare though.
Taunts
Similar to the annoying spam, taunting can really piss people off. If you're playing Smash 4 and have some custom taunts it can be even more affective depending on your custom message.
T-bagging can be counting as taunting too. Some taunts are more frustrating than others, and timing can make a difference. If you spike someone with Captain Falcon and formally request that they show you their moves, they will most likely be rather agitated.
That's my posh Britishness showing.
Sadly you can't actually taunt on Quickplay anymore. This irratates me so much because of characters like Luigi but that's an entirely different topic. You can t-bag still but if I promoted that everyone would kill me.
