My Stardew Journey // week 8

Summer 23-28

This week has been VERY eventful. It was the final week of summer, and I guess the season still had quite a few surprises to throw at me.

Well, to start out, Shane has been doing MUCH better recently. Our fireside chats at the saloon have continued in their frequency, but I noticed he hasn’t been drinking at all. He told me he’s swapped beer for sparkling water, and as a result, his physical and mental health are already steadily improving.

I couldn’t be prouder of him, and it’s so good to see him feeling so good.

Back on the farm, I’ve been pretty satisfied with my crop yield. I’ve been growing all sorts of variety, and the quality’s only been improving.

I already know that fall is gonna be amazing.

Onto some more weird news.

THE MINES. ARE HAUNTED.

Yeah… as it turns out, the frozen depths have also been full of surprises. I don’t know if these are actual ghosts or if they’re just a different type of monster (like an undertale situation), but I didn’t stick around to find out.

Another weird thing… I found a GIGANTIC plush in a bush on the far side of town. It’s a junimo, which raises a few questions, since it doesn’t seem like those critters are very well-known around here.

Either way, it’s made for great decor in my new room.

Right, my new room! I finally gathered the funds to have Robin expand my house. She built on a new bedroom, and even a kitchen!

How grandpa survived all those years without a kitchen, I will never figure out.

So now I have a full room to decorate! It’s… a work in progress, haha.

Down at the beach, there’s this little bridge that leads to some tide pools and another pier. It was broken when I moved in, so this week I took it upon myself to repair it.

I decided to fish off that pier, since it looked like it went even further out than the one to the west. And I caught a particularly interesting fish…

I showed it to Willy, and he was ecstatic. As it turns out, this was the crimsonfish, aka one of five LEGENDARY fish of the valley. That’s right, I caught a legendary fish. So that’s going to be proudly displayed in a tank at home!

Aside from all the craziness, I’ve had plenty of time to take it slow and catch up with friends. The other day I spoke with Penny and Sam on one of the bridges in town.

Call me crazy, but there was something about the way the two of them interacted that I found quite interesting… ;)

Well, today’s the last day of summer, meaning it’s also birthday. My birthdays don’t really mean a whole lot to me anymore, but it was kinda neat getting some birthday wishes around town. Even Shane ed.

Tonight was also the “dance of the moonlight jellies.” I’d never heard of these jellyfish before, but apparently they come out in the evening at the end of summer. The whole town heads down to the beach to watch them, and it’s kind of like little farewell to the season.

It was really, really neat. Those creatures are so beautiful…

Well, we’re at the end of another season yet again. It’s crazy just how fast it went by… and just how much happened in that short time. I’m certainly excited to see what fall has to bring.
