You’d think hiding a ghost living inside your phone would be an easy task. But let me just say from experience, it’s not. If Nona would actually stay in the damn phone, I wouldn’t have any problems. But she is both figuratively and literally a free-spirited girl.

You shouldn’t ask why I’m even trying to hide Nona in the first place. If people found out about this, the Occult Club, or any paranormal agency, Nona would be screwed and she’d take me down with her. For harboring her, obviously.

I’ve had many close calls in hiding her so far. Like in the movie theater for example. Me and my friend Mei go watch movies at the theater all the time. But if you couldn’t tell since page 3, Nona is a pretty territorial person. Every 15 minutes, she’d be buzzing my phone trying to get my attention.

And I can’t completely shut my phone off because then Nona would be ejected from there and who knows what would happen. Actually, I already know what would happen but I’m not gonna tell you about it right now. Anyway, the point is that Nona makes it very hard to keep it under wraps. And someday, she’s going to get discovered.

I can think of someone who’s getting pretty suspicious of me already. While I was in the classroom alone trying to stuff my papers in my book bag, I was talking to Nona about her family. To help me get a better understanding, she drew a landscape picture of her entire family.

As she was drawing a picture of her mother, her father, and her two younger sisters, Oka was walking down the hall next to the classroom. She had overheard me talking and as she walked in front of the classroom entrance, Nona dropped the pencils as quickly as possible.

I’m pretty sure Oka is questioning why I was talking to myself. Knowing her, she was probably thinking I was talking to spirits or something. But if she thought that, then she wouldn’t hesitate to confront me. At least, on the spot.

“Oh sh*t!”

Things just got real! Things just got really real! It just happened so suddenly. One minute, I leave my phone on the desk in my classroom while I catch up with Mei to discuss our plans to go see Pokemon The Movie: I Choose You in theaters. The next minute, I come back to retrieve my phone only to find out it’s been stolen.

At the time, I had left my messages open on my phone. Meaning, the person who snatched my phone has access to all the messages Nona left me. I was hoping my phone didn’t fall into the wrong hands. But that hope can go straight to hell, because when I used Mei’s phone to message my phone, Nona responded saying Oka Ruto had taken her to the Occult Club Room. (By the way, I haven’t told Mei about Phantom Nona yet.) And the worst part was Oka had seen Nona send that message when she did. Now she knows.

Oka Ruto, the Occult Club Leader, now knows that Phantom Nona, an overworld spirit, really exists.

When I got to the Occult Club Room, I saw Oka standing there in front of the table with the creepy skull and the ritual knife. She was holding my phone in her hand with her back facing towards me. She slowly turned around to face me with a serious look on her face. She didn’t look like she was going to talk first, so I did.

“Can I have my phone back please? My magikarp’s almost at max jump power.”

Welp. That didn’t work. Can’t say I didn’t try though... I am so screwed.
