My Stardew Journey // week 10

Fall 8-14

I said I was gonna relax this week, and I made good on my promise.

The weather has been absolutely WONDERFUL. The worst thing has been the wind, and even then it’s just enough to be a minor inconvenience. It actually creates a nice balance, bringing in a pleasantly cool air. I’ve spent a lot of time this week just chilling outside.

Of course, I didn’t just exclusively kick back. I’ve been plenty hard at work on the farm, but nothing too strenuous.

The first half of this week was blackberry season, and those tiny little goodies were all over the place. I’ve got several basketfuls stuffed in my fridge right now.

I also took my first quest from the new board this week. Linus had a request, surprisingly, and it really stood out for me. He mentioned how much trash there’s been in the water around town, and he figured a little cleanup was in order.

I can definitely vouch for the trash in the water. I’ve recently obtained a bunch of crab pots, and most of what they’ve picked up from my pond has been garbage.

Well, I pitched in throughout the week. Linus suggested the trash be brought to the big bin by the train station, and last I checked it was pretty full. So it seems like some others have been helping out, too.

The other day, while I was fishing out some trash, I made an exciting catch. I caught the Angler, which is apparently ANOTHER legendary fish!

Surprisingly, it was quite an easy catch, especially compared to the Crimsonfish. And speaking of Crimsonfish, he’s got a tank buddy now.

First, though, I had to show my new catch off to Willy. When I got to Willy’s, however, I came across an interesting sight.

I guess Willy’s been handling crabs, but they had gotten a little out of hand. Thankfully, Gus happened to stop by around then, and the three of us spent the remainder of the afternoon picking up crabs and narrowly avoiding pinchers.

As a plus, Gus bought the whole lot, and he even ran a special on crab cakes for the next couple days. And boy, can that man make a mean crab cake.

On another note, this week I completed a full set of bundles in the community center. As soon as I placed the last item in the last bundle, a ton of junimos popped up, dancing around happily.

There was a flash of light, and the next thing I knew, the boiler room was completed restored to full repair.

I don’t know HOW those little critters did it, but now I’m even more motivated to finish those bundles.

The next day, I also noticed something interesting while I was in the mines. There’s a mine cart near the entrance, but it’s always been in disrepair. However, this morning it was in full operation.

I took the cart into town, and then later to the bus station. I’m not sure what happened, but I know it must have been the junimos.

As I’m writing this, I’m NOT sitting on my bed this time! Robin has a rotating catalogue of furniture, and today there was a big plush armchair. Obviously, I had to buy it. It makes for a great spot by the fireplace, perfect for journaling.
