Hi everyone, it's time for a little follow-up
post regarding our latest blog.
Several of the comments we have received
requested a space for 18+ jokes / chatting,
as well as a guideline change regarding the
rules for inappropriate jokes & language.
We have discussed this within the team and
we'd like to get back to you for more thoughts
and opinions on the matter. This guideline will
need adjustment, and you haven't been happy
with our limits before. Therefore I want to ask
➛ What should be allowed?
➛ Where should we draw the line?
➛ What are the do's and dont's?

If you make an 18+ area, I don't think there should be much restriction (forget trigger warnings and restrictions on anatomical ) beyond hate speech, anger, intentionally making a place uncomfortable for others, hitting on people, talk about sexual actions beyond asking a concise question, ect.
As far as pictures... again, nudity would be fine but there should be a point to it. This isn't a porn site. Transitioning updates, rash questions, ect should be fine. Showing off your body and it's functions could probably be done better elsewhere.
The main issue is there's no way to regulate minors and the change would likely start an issue with people updating there profiles (outside the allowed space).
There are still amino rules and nudity is not allowed as well as overly sexual conversations. Amino have their own rules and we have no choice but to follow them....those cannot be changed
We have to keep in mind the rules of Amino as an app were made for a teens-young adults audience, and that's a very thin line to walk on regarding 18+ content in general.
Yes it should be allow BUT as long as it's something you know you'll be able to manage. Like previous comments said, in the case of a public chatroom, a space for adults, controlled by adults responsable enough to make sure things don't get out of hand (cause there's no excuse to adults being assholes and immature with/at each other) and ensuring no minors get involved.
When it comes to blogs and things every can click on and see, there should be (as always) a very clear content warning and spacing, it's everyone's responsibility to give awareness of things made with adult content as much as with any other trigger warning. Let's not abuse of it tho, extremely sexual/gore things shouldn't be allowed at all, you have reddit and other online forums for that kind of content, this is a safe/healthier space.
If you're a minor, you just keep away from the adults chats and that's it. It's everyone's own responsibility to give a space to these differences and learn to disagree without being disrespectful.
(Minor here) I agree with everything MVP Autumn said; minors should keep their opinions regarding 18+ topics to themselves. That said there should be a chat host ready to kick any minors who try to (it’s gonna happen). I only add this bc I’m a leader/curator/host for many communities, and while we don’t have 18+ topics, I do have very strict rules regarding whether or not 18+ humans and minors can fraternize (under some circumstances, it’s appropriate). In an 18+ chat, though, it’s not.
