I look in the mirror and feel kind of sad,
Wishing for a body I've never had.
I pull at my clothes, try to hide,
The parts I don't like, the feelings inside.
Then I see her walk by, so at ease,
With curves and a shape that seem to please.
She laughs without knowing how much I stare,
Wishing so badly that I was her there.
She didn't have to try or fight,
She was just born looking right.
And I, no matter how hard I try,
Can't help but ask the mirror why.
Why not me? Why this frame?
Why does my body bring me shame?
But still I hope, and still I try,
To love myself and not ask why.

This is a poem about never being satisfied with the reflection you see in the mirror, despite all the efforts you do to get your dream body. Meanwhile there are people out there, living with the body you dream of, without doing any effort for it whatsoever.
