Ok, I’m thinking outside the box with this submission, so hopefully it qualifies for the challenge.

I enjoy mead - alcohol fermented from honey. It’s the oldest form man fermented libation. I enjoy it so much that we conducted our nuptial ceremony at a meadery (a particularly picturesque setting and one which supplied mead to our guests). I wanted to gift my groomsmen a bottle of mead from the meadery, to commemorate their involvement on the day

But I wanted it to be a little more personal. I thought about perhaps engraving the bottles with a message. However, I settled on relabelling the sticker on the back of the bottle.

I tried to match the label colour (it looks much closer in person) and altered the text of the information to be more … well … me!

It’s all in the detail. The font of the film titles in the text is the font used for the movies. Quotes and references come directly from the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings pertaining to mead references in the books. And I included the JRR Tolkien symbol and One Ring text on the bottom right hand corner. I printed it onto an adhesive label, sized to exactly cover the original label and stuck it over the original label!

Hopefully the groomsmen will keep their bottles long after they have finished their mead. I also gifted them a Graham Anthony Hobbit tumbler to drink the mead from.

I’ve also kept another bottle to open with my wife at a later anniversary 🥰 🥂
