Another quick piece of content for the #twilightwings

I can't turn this into a full on blog so it might as well be good for points

Real talk tho, does smash 4 really had better online play than ultimate?

I can't turn this

Matchmaking

Ultimate Matchmaking is a fucking joke let's be honest.

I know what they were trying to go for here. On PAPER it looks pretty good tbh. Custom competitive (or casual) rulesets allowing you to match with someone who enjoys the same ruleset? Cool yeah I'm down bro. A better, online competitive experience based on the amount of points you've gathered? Fuck yeah dude bring it here.

In actuality? You get matched with people with different rulesets. Sometimes it's like 3 stock 6 minutes instead of 3 stock 8 minutes, but sure whatever. 2 minutes less is sus but whatever. But to be matched with someone who's doing 1 stock 3 minutes? Fuck you. Matched with someone who's 2 stock 5 minutes and items on? Outta here. Why am i in this quickplay hellllllllll

Gsp is actually really unbalanced as well. You lose hundreds of thousands of points for losing and win hundreds for winning :^). When you try to get a character into elite and haven't touched them online at all that first game will make or break your chances.

Quickplay as a concept is sound, but the above aspects WITH the inability to change characters makes it pretty garbage and not worth your time. Like all of the aspects of quickplay paves way for a toxic mindset frfr

For Glory tho?

There's no "elite" kind of service which is a bummer, but it's amazingly consistent in comparison. While you can get such a mixed bag of players, at least the ruleset is consistent. You can also change characters as much as you want , which was hypeeeeeeICantBelieveTheyRemovedThiseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Private Lobbies

Arenas are... actually really good, no cap.

The room code and PW functionality makes it so that you don't have to send a friend request to people just for some friendlies. How fuckin archaic tbh lmao. I having to delete friend codes every now and then because I'd be full omg that fuckin sucked asssss. I was super active on the 3ds scene too so i did this OFTEN SJSHSJSJS

People can spectate, wait in line, and even give greetings and stuff. Compared to 4 player max rooms in smash 4? Ultimate got ya beat here.

So... The score is 1-1. S4 has FAR better matchmaking but Ultimate has FAR better lobby setups.

However...at the very least, s4 rooms had the ability to tell you the signal strength of the room upon entering. Something we have no notion of in ultimate. ???????????? Why. For what and for why do we not have this feature. I'll never understand.

It's a small aspect, but a very valuable one. S4 gets half a point here.

1-1.5, therefore S4 overall had a better online experience imo.

peace

I playing SSB4 For Glory and I came across this Puff spammer. He was literally so bad at this game and I made him rage.

He ended up texting a very censored rage message on Miiverse

In my very recent experiences it's just as bad as smash ultimate except inputs get incorrect a lot more often in my experience. I can't tell you how many times I used I tilt or smash attack and it came out as a jab.
