This is part of a series of blogs where I take you on a journey through my first bullet journal. If you would like to read the other parts, links will be at the end of this blog.
September 2016:
For this month, I decided to go with a very minimal style. No fancy handlettering. I went with a tall, skinny font for my headers/titles.

For the month overview, I went bare bones to keep with the minimal style. The only color I used was to color code my plans for the month. This was the only way I wanted to incorporate color for the month.

In the previous month’s spread, I had two challenges written in for me to do. I realized very quickly, that was a quite a big task. I ended up just taking on one challenge to keep me from being too stressed out. I chose a doodle challenge which ended up being really fun to do. Unlike the last doodle challenge, I drew all of them on one page instead of drawing them in each day. I got the prompts from pinterest @bydawnnicole.

For my habit tracker, I glued in a dot grid and used my Papermate Inkjoy colored pens to track my habits. I kept it simple enough. Looking back at it, it looks appealing to the eye.

For the dailies, I did hipster logo style dates to keep it simple. In reality, it wasn’t as simple as it looks. I get very picky about how evenly drawn my lines are so I would get frustrated if I messed up. I loved the concept but hated the execution.

Overall, this spread wasn’t too bad. I have learned that I shouldn’t be too picky about journaling or else I would be less motivated to bullet journal.
This is when I realized, I needed to get a dot grid journal...
