So I ended up missing last week's tour of my old bullet journal but I'm back for another one! This one is long...
This week I'm going to show you my first month's spread: August.

I wanted to achieve something slightly artistic with a touch of soft colors. To contrast, I wanted my headers/titles to be gold. I chose to draw a random flower for the cover page. I don't think i was trying to aim for a specific flower, just something freehand. I love dragonflies so I wanted to doodle some in there. The handlettering was also just random. I'm okay with how it turned out. However, I wish I chose an actual flower to draw... And handlettering of modern calligraphy wasn't much of a thing yet for me.
I started off with my monthly overview (which is a must have for me in general.) I kept it basic and drew a similar flower with the header. I tried to do some handlettering here. It's not my best but it was a good try.

With this being my first journal, I wanted to do anything and everything you could add to a bullet journal. So I looked up some challenges I can add to fill up some space. I found an instagram challenge (which I failed) and a doodle challenge (which I did mostly finish). This was around the time Pokemon Go came out so I kept track of pokemon I caught and doodled them.

Just so you know, I did catch more pokemon than that. I just got lazy to track them after a while. My university I graduated from was a gold mine for pokemon and gyms... But no I don't play it anymore, though, I do still have the app on my phone...
The next pages I added were header doodles and a habit tracker printout.

Since bullet journaling was so new to me at the time, I wanted to pull inspiration from everything I researched. My main inspiration came from pinterest. If I liked it, I doodled it in a notepad (yep not even directly into the journal itself.) Once I filled it with header/title doodles I liked, I glued it into my journal.

For my habit tracker, I actually started to draw out a dot grid into my lined journal. I really liked the set up I saw from Boho Berry and wanted to do that type of tracker. After a while, I was getting frustrated and ended up printing out a dot grid I found on pinterest. I set up the tracker and glued that to the journal as well. I made it colorful to block out the frustration the original grid gave me.
For daily/weekly spreads, I tried to keep the daily headers simple with some handlettering.

I kept track of the weather with the doodles I showed in my last post. I used a different color for each day. I also did the doodle for the doodle challenge after each day. I made something simple to something chaotic. I also added a flip out insert as a reminder to finish some courses I had to do online.

So there's the first month's spread of my first bullet journal. Looking back, I personally think a bit too much was going on. But for any of you reading, I hope it gives you some inspiration. There's a lot to choose from. :joy:
Happy Journaling! :grinning:
