Spring 1-7, 20XX

Boy, this new year has come in full swing.

When I woke up Monday morning, I stepped outside to see TONS of overgrowth. The farm looked just a step down from how it had looked when I first moved in.

It took me all day, but I managed to clear out all the grass and other debris. After that, I started setting up my crops. I’ve finally gotten my hands on some sprinklers, which have definitely come in handy, considering I’ve got plenty of seeds to grow this season.

Also, that weird egg I found actually hatched! The animal inside is a… lizard? of some sort. I’m not sure. I named her Ellie.

Now, off of the farm…

As thanks for donating so many items to the museum, Gunther stopped by and gave me this really old key. I thought it would make a pretty cool knicknack, then I ed something…

Quite some time ago, that day that I caught Vincent and Jas by the sewer grate, Jas had mentioned that she was pretty sure Gunther had the key to it. I knew this had to be it. So, I decided to investigate whatever was lurking down there.

The sewer is… quite the acquired taste. I don’t think I’m ever getting that smell out of my overalls.

Most importantly, though, I met someone living down there. That strange shadow creature that I encountered last winter has been living down in the sewer for ages apparently, and he was quite surprised to see me poking around down there.

He introduced himself as Krobus, and he offered me some wares that he was selling. He was actually quite friendly, which was surprising, considering how jumpy he had been back on the surface.

Also in the sewers, I decided to try some fishing… don’t ask what possessed me to do that. But, to my surprise, there actually was a worthy catch in the sewer: some sort of weird, mutated carp.

I brought it to Willy, and it turns out that it was yet another legendary fish! That means I’ve caught four of the five; the only one remaining is the aptly-named Legend.

I’ll be sure to update on my progress with catching that one.

The sewer key isn’t the only one I’ve discovered a use for. Apparently Junimo Kart was NOT the only use for the skull key. That weird locked cave in Calico Desert was also unlocked by it.

It led to a cave system known as Skull Cavern.

Eager to find what resources were waiting for me inside, I rushed in. However, I was WAY in over my head…

The monsters inside the cavern were like nothing I’d ever seen before. Giant slimes, seemingly-invincible mummies, and worst of all, the flying snakes.

Those snakes made quick work of me, and my flimsy little sword seemed like nothing compared to them. I don’t exactly what happened, but I woke up in the clinic back home.

My head still hurts.

Although, apparently I had made it farther down in the cavern than I realized. The next day I found a mysterious note in my mail congratulating me on my accomplishment.

I have no idea who this “Qi” is, but something tells me I’ll be finding out soon enough… Not to mention, holy CRAP that payout. That’s gonna cover a whole season’s expenses. Or… at least a few weeks. Still!

Anyway, one last thing this week. I finished up the pantry in the community center, which means the bulletin board is the only bundle I have left.

I really do wonder what will become of this old building once it’s fully restored. Is the town going to reopen it? Plus, there will surely be questions about what happened. How on earth can I begin to explain this? The majority of the townspeople will think I’m crazy.

Although, considering the evidence is right there…

Eh, anyway. The junimos’ reward for completing this room was something on my farm, rather than in the town. They completely restored the beat-up greenhouse to the western side.

There’s quite a bit of space in there, and I imagine it’ll be very helpful for growing certain crops year-round.

By the end of this week, things have started to settle down. Hopefully that’s a sign for the season to come. I would love to have a nice, leisurely spring season, now that I’m pretty settled in with the town.

Season’s greetings!

Wait that’s winter
